Humanhorizons-intl presented their unique approach to minimizing the risks associated with the pressures placed upon management & employees at the HSE conference on Risk in KL in January.
Current trends are that government intervention in policy will only increase as alarming statistics on mental health issues in organisations grow. The presentation focused on world trends toward responsibilty and accountability within organisations, regarding mental health issues brought on by employee/organisation relationships.
Who is responsible when stress related illness takes hold? The Organisation for allowing 'it' to happen? The Employee for not coping with inevitable pressures? Both? Regardless where the blame may end up, the consequences are the same - loss of productivity, unhappy employee and extensive costs all round!
