Overview
The CIR Program© is designed for the first time respondent as in emergency services, or those who regularly face potentially traumatic or extremely negative circumstances during their work.
Facing dangerous experiences or facing aftermath can culminate in behaviours that can severely impact a persons ability to function and perform to their normal capability. The impact can affect every aspect of a person’s life; relationships, confidence - even the search for meaning – why?
Common coping strategies employed are alcohol, drugs, social withdrawal or even over socializing to try and ‘forget’. Behaviour changes such as depression, anxiety attacks, lack of confidence, obsessiveness, aggression, mood swings can be frequently observed.
Advice is rarely effective although offered with good intention and organizational Assistance Programs are frequently by-passed for fear of loss of face. Rehabilitation for individuals who are significantly affected can be lengthy, time consuming and the costs to departments extensive.
The CIR Program© draws upon rapid recovery processes (RRP’s) that instigate immediate and verifiable results – Results (Personal change) that are experienced and then personally validated to ensure confidence in the process.
Attendees (respondents/personnel, officers etc.) are shown how and why recovery from traumatic incidents is within their capability, as is a returning to normal duties. They are then equipped with a set of tools that provide them with stability and the means to make the changes and rebuild the levels of confidence they desire.
Experience is a valuable asset and having key people return to normal duty where they can continue to fully contribute and pass on that experience is a key component and primary objective.
